Inverted nipple refers to a condition in which the entire nipple or a portion of it is buried inward toward the lactiferous duct. Inverted nipples are a common source of selfconsciousness and concern for many women. It has been estimated that from 2 to 10% of women are affected by inverted nipples presenting uni- or bilaterally with varying degrees of severity. This deformity has been linked to various aesthetic, functional, and psychological problems and can be troublesome in breastfeeding. Inverted nipple can result from congenital or acquired causes. A large majority of cases are attributable to congenital causes. We have developed personal technique with minimal scarring in order to ensure a flawless result.

  • Length

    Surgery takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

    Outpatient.

  • Possible Side Effects

    Infection and hematoma are quite rare complication.

  • Risks

    There are no particular risks of the procedure. Breast feeding due to nipple inversion might be not possible and operation can not guarantee that breast feeding will be possible in the future.

  • Recovery

    Usually takes 24-48 hours. Most patients can go back to their sport activities after 4-6 weeks.

  • Results

    The results are permanent, however there is a small chance of recurrence.
